Alex Stillman - RB/LB Joel Barlow

Working with Coach Cleary and Athlete Factory has transformed my team and I completely. My junior year we were 3-7. at Joel Barlow. Coach Cleary was introduced to us following that season. His workouts immediately made an impact on a team that did not know a thing about success. This past season, we finished 9-4 as we reached the state championship game for 1st time in school history. If not for Coach's programming, we would not have had the increase in team strength, explosiveness, and most importantly the bond we developed during those work out sessions and we probably would not have been able to make the historic run we made. Personally in my junior year, I was an average undersized linebacker who finished with 66 solo tackles 30 assisted, and 377 rushing yards. My senior year I had 130 solo tackles, 27 assisted, 922 rushing yards and 12 TDs. I was First Team All Conference and was the most highly voted linebacker. I was also awarded Class M All State and 3rd Team All New Haven Register All State Team. I believe that if not for Athlete Factory's methods, I would not have been able to take the necessary steps to become a successful athlete. I also plan to still train with Coach Cleary in preparation for my college career where I will play football at Gettysburg

 Hey Coach Cleary,

I just wanted to let you know that I committed to Colgate University last weekend. They're giving me a full scholarship to play and they're in the Patriot league. Although it might not be at the highest level, I'm still happy with where I'm going. Thanks for all the help this past summer, you made me a lot better, it showed in the film. I made the All League Team and the All New England Prep-school League Team. Hopefully we will get a chance to work again this summer and keep improving.

How bad do you want it? How bad do you want to standout in a crowd? How bad do you want be the best that you can possibility be? If you want it bad, Coach Cleary is how you are going to get it. I trained with Coach Kevin Cleary for over three years now and since the first time I trained with him, he always wanted the best for me. He explains why what we do makes us better and pays attention to out technique when doing our lifts and drills. I credit a large part of my success to Coach Cleary.

Before I started training with Coach, I was wasn’t a very explosive athlete or strong enough to be successful on varsity. I wasn’t at my full potential but that all changed. In just the 1st year training, my lifts went up drastically. To my surprise my speed increased too and I was faster than ever. The difference between my speed, quickness and explosiveness from my Junior year to my Senior year was incredible.

My Senior season, I had over 1500 yards on the ground racking up 30 total touchdowns. With that said I was all state and a Newtown record holder for most touchdowns. “It’s not the hours you put in your work that counts, it’s the work you put in the hours” and coach Cleary pushes you hard, but almost makes sure you are doing it the right way. Now I’m totally prepared for the next level; playing division 1 football. Thank you, Coach Cleary, for helping me become the athlete that I am today.
